Whoa

If my calculations are correct and I set my iBike up correctly, then I hit a 1317 watt max today during our points practice. Not bad - my form is starting to come around. What I really want to do is be part of the 1500 watt club. :)

Nope, I won't see you at the circuit race this weekend, as I'll be doing Elkhorn instead. Good luck, though!

I will, however, be heading over the following weekend to do the state crit and the Des Moines crit, so I'll be ready to work for our crit ladies!

Have you been using the iBike on the track? I've been curious about getting one...

Yeah, I've been using it on the track. It was hard to do a "coast" roll out - one of the calibration tests you have to do to properly set it up. But once I managed to accelerate on the apron and then unclip and let my bike roll, it seemed to work. I remember reading a while ago that sometimes the numbers are skewed when sprinting - but unfortunately don't have the cash to spring for a SRM to compare it with. All in all though it's a great CHEAP way to keep track of power and how hard of an effort you're putting out. Nice blog btw - I'm going to have to give the TGH a little heat for the kiddie pacing though. :)

Thanks! TGH & the whole Northwest women's road & track cycling scene sounds really exciting. I hope to head out to the FSA Grand Prix next month.

Very cool to know the iBike is an option for the track. I was worried about how the coastdown would work, but it sounds do-able.
